High-fired Cone10-11 ceramic stoneware pottery. High-fired to 2350 degrees in a homemade kiln in a gas reduction-type atmosphere. Glossy, handmade layers of flowing glazes. Clean finish. High-end individually made pieces masterfully thrown on a pottery wheel. Altered and decorated with liquid clay slip. Artist signature is represented as a traditional potter's "chop" (hand-carved stamped frog).
Dots are made by using a liquified clay called “slip” that is deliberately squeezed on to an object one little dot at a time to create a raised surface. This gives the form texture and interferes with the fluidity of the layers of homemade glazes.
All pieces are handcrafted by artisan from Virginia, USA.
Durable.
Perfect for tea and tea parties. No direct contact with heat source (stovetop) advised. For steeping only.
Approximately 10" from spout to handle , 7" wide and 6" deep. Holds approximately 3-4 cups.
