High-fired Cone10-11 ceramic stoneware pottery. High-fired to 2350 degrees in a homemade kiln in a gas reduction-type atmosphere. Glossy, handmade layers of flowing glazes. Clean finish. High-end individually made pieces masterfully thrown on a pottery wheel. Altered round shape and slip trailing decoration. Artist signature is represented as a traditional potter's "chop" (hand-carved stamped frog).
Microwave, dishwasher safe. Durable.
The moon is created by slip-trailing circles and then using a soft small paintbrush to pull the wet edges outward making craters. The flowing glazes move around the slip during the firing process.
Bumps made by using an old wooden tablespoon held against the outside of a vessel as index finger is pressed from the inside outward. This creates a consistent round bump to the exterior of the vessel. Glazes behave interesting as they find the path of least resistance around these bumps. These bumps give the user a functional gripping point.
Perfect size for your every liquid needs, tooth brush holder, or even mini vase.
Approximately 2.5” diameter by 4.5” tall. Holds approximately 8 ounces.
