High-fired Cone10-11 ceramic stoneware pottery teapot. High-fired to 2350 degrees in a homemade kiln in a gas reduction-type atmosphere. Glossy, handmade layers of flowing glazes. Clean finish. High-end individually made pieces masterfully thrown on a pottery wheel. Altered and decorated with liquid clay slip. Artist signature is represented as a traditional potter's "chop" (hand-carved stamped frog).
Liquified clay called “slip” used to trail patterns or designs on the surface of vessels giving tactile texture and paths for fluid glazes to melt and flow around during the firing process. The bamboo represents fast growth and strength.
