High-fired Cone10-11 ornate ceramic stoneware pottery jar. High-fired to 2350 degrees in a homemade kiln in a gas reduction-type atmosphere. Glossy, handmade layers of flowing glazes. Clean finish. High-end individually made pieces masterfully thrown on a pottery wheel. Artist signature is represented as a traditional potter's "chop" (hand-carved stamped frog).
Lidded. Ornamental, decorative piece.
Bumps made by using an old wooden tablespoon held against the outside of a vessel as index finger is pressed from the inside outward. This creates a consistent round bump to the exterior of the vessel. Glazes behave interesting as they find the path of least resistance around these bumps. These bumps give the user a functional gripping point.
Approximately 15” tall
