Handmade Ceramic Stoneware Pottery - Deep Purple Slip Dotted Orb Lidded Jar

High-fired Cone10-11 ceramic stoneware pottery lidded jar. High-fired to 2350 degrees in a homemade kiln in a gas reduction-type atmosphere. Glossy, handmade layers of flowing glazes. Clean finish. High-end individually made pieces masterfully thrown on a pottery wheel. Artist signature is represented as a traditional potter's "chop" (hand-carved stamped frog).

Dots are made by using a liquified clay called “slip” that is deliberately squeezed on to an object one little dot at a time to create a raised surface. This gives the form texture and interferes with the fluidity of the layers of homemade glazes.

Perfect, unique decorative centerpiece/jar.
